Current Doctoral Students
Ha B. Vien, MPA
Ha B. Vien is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Public Administration at North Carolina State University. She is currently a research fellow at Earth System Governance project. She holds an MPA from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington on policy analysis and international development. Her research interests include public administration and public policy, sustainability, SDGs, environmental/energy policy and environmental justice. Former Doctoral Students
Leila Chelbi, Ph.D
Leila Chelbi received her doctorate in Public Administration in May 2023. Her dissertation explored the regional and national neo-institutionalization of social responsibility in the public sector, with an emphasis on the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region. Dr. Chelbi came to the U.S. on a Fulbright Scholarship to obtain a Masters in Mass Communication at the University of South Carolina. She holds a B.A. in Management and a M.A. in Marketing from the Institute of Higher Commercial Studies of Carthage. She has experience in brand management, translation, nonprofit management, and environmental communication. Her research interests gravitate around environmental policy, water and land management in peri-urban and rural areas, renewable energy projects implementation, and fiscal health in developing countries
Yuhao Ba, Ph.D.
Yuhao Ba received his doctorate in Public Administration in May 2021, and is currently an assistant professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. His research centers on environmental policy, non-state environmental governance, policy processes, and research methods. In his doctoral dissertation, he examined the relevance and potential of corporate-led environmental governance systems. This includes the interaction between corporate-led arrangements and environmental policy processes as well as the relative performance of alternative environmental governance systems in fostering desired environmental outcomes. His teaching interests are around public policy and research methods.
